A Scalability Analysis of Self-organizing Agent Communities

چکیده
A theoretical scalability analysis of a self-organizing community formed by middle agents (described in detail in (Wang, 2002)) is carried out in this paper. We provide evidence that the formation time of self-organizing communities may increase linearly with the log of the number of users and also linearly with the number of middle agents.

Identifying overlapping communities using multi-agent collective intelligence
The proposed algorithm in this research is based on the multi-agent particle swarm optimization as a collective intelligence due to the connection between several simple components which enables them to regulate their behavior and relationships with the rest of the group according to certain rules. As a result, self-organizing in collective activities can be seen. Community structure is crucial...
متن کاملToward Systemic MAS Development: Enforcing Decentralized Self-organization by Composition and Refinement of Archetype Dynamics
The utilization of self-organizing processes promises scalability, robustness and adaptivity in Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), solely based on decentralized coordination of individual actors. Bionic development approaches are being established, which reuse decentralized coordination mechanisms that are derived from natural self–organizing systems. In this paper, we address analysis activities in in...
متن کاملOn the convergence of autonomous agent communities
Community is a common phenomenon in natural ecosystems, human societies as well as artificial multi-agent systems such as those in web and Internet based applications. In many self-organizing systems, communities are formed evolutionarily in a decentralized way through agents’ autonomous behavior. This paper systematically investigates the properties of a variety of the self-organizing agent co...
متن کاملContent-Based Search Using Self-Organizing Peer-to-Peer Network
In order for peer-to-peer (P2P) content sharing network to be scalable, it is imperative to efficiently route queries through the network. Semantic based search should, with as little messages (traffic) as possible, return just those relevant documents stored throughout the network thus achieving precision and recall values comparable to those of correspondent centralized system. In this articl...
متن کاملA Self-Organizing Virtual Environment for Agent-Based Simulations
In this paper we present a self-organizing model for open virtual environments in multi-agent based simulation systems. Open environments are inaccessible, non-deterministic, dynamic and continuous. A virtual environment is partitioned into areas called cells and is supported by an underlying autonomic software system consisting of specialized agents called controllers and coordinators. Control...
